St. Peter’s by the Sea Preschool is committed to providing a nurturing and secure environment for children and families. In a developmentally appropriate, engaging setting, children learn and explore as they experience the world.
The program provides freedom for children to have spontaneous play and interaction where they make decisions, try new things, solve problems and develop skills. Structured teacher-directed activities allow children to focus attention, function as a group, and learn social skills, fostering positive self-esteem.
St. Peter’s Preschool curriculum provides opportunities that encourage social, emotional, artistic, imaginative, physical, and spiritual development. The curriculum includes activities that develop cognitive skills and school readiness.
Qualified staff and small class sizes allow each child to develop at his or her pace, interest, and learning style. The whole child is nurtured through active learning, encouragement, and loving attention.

Children learn through play. During center time, children choose from a variety of activities including puzzle, playdough, manipulative, and science and math games. Children work on a daily art project linked to a number, letter, or theme, giving them the opportunity to follow directions, develop fine motor skills and creativity.
Circle time provides language experiences such as share time, story reading, and thoughts about the theme or letter of the day. Exploration of the seasons, weather, and the calendar, as well as music and movement are a part of circle time. Games such as bingo, memory, and matching are incorporated.
Every day children develop social and large motor skills while enjoying the outside play area. They play in the sandbox, climb the play structures, ride bicycles, and experience the sensory bins filled with water, beans, and rice.

A 10% tuition discount is received if two or more children attend the Preschool. Church members also receive a 10% tuition discount. Discount does not apply to extended day and early drop-off fees.
