Women

Women’s Ministries at St. Peter’s by the Sea support a community of women who come together to share faith, support one another and serve the church and others. Events, activities and retreats create connecting points where women of all ages and stages can build relationships.

First Tuesdays: Women Nurturing Women

Women’s gatherings happen most, but not every month, each with a different focus to appeal to a variety of interests. Previous activities have included service opportunities, e.g. packing to-go food bags for the Garden Church and writing notes to incarcerated women, and fun gatherings such as flower arranging and line dancing.

This year’s activities include a festive Christmas Tea, Valentine’s Day celebration, and a weekend retreat “Claiming Your Purpose” at Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside.  Most evening events include a light supper and conversation, in addition to the planned activity. The location of gatherings varies from the church campus to local homes.

Reluctant Sisterhood

Provides emotional and spiritual support to women who have or have had any form of cancer. Regular informal coffee gatherings are held at St. Peter’s or in volunteers’ homes where stories are shared between the “sisterhood” members concerning their personal journeys as they fight and live with various forms of cancer.
